Groups of 2/3/4 players work as a team. Each player hits off the tee, the best shot is selected, and all other players pick up their ball and place it, within one club length, alongside the best ball. Each person then hits a second shot from the same spot, this is repeated until the ball is in the hole. On the putting green the best ball is marked, and the other balls are played from this position.

  • 2 Person Ambrose – Each player must have 5 drives; handicap is calculated by adding the 2 handicaps together and dividing by 4.
  • 3 Person Ambrose – Each player must have 4 drives; handicap is calculated by adding the 3 handicaps together and dividing by 6.
  • 4 Person Ambrose – Each player must have 3 drives; handicap is calculated by adding the 4 handicaps together and dividing by 8.

During our 9-hole skins events each Player is playing for a prize within the group. Each player plays for 9 skins (1 per hole).

If no one wins a hole clear the skin jackpots to the next hole until someone wins. That winner then takes those multiple skins e.g. if 2 holes jackpot on the next hole you’re playing for 3 skins.

By the end of the 9 holes there will be a winner in the group who wins that prize. If playing in a group with big differences in handicaps; you could you normal GA handicap to determine if you get shots on a hole.

Decisions with Respect to Event/Round Cancellations

The last few years has seen inclement weather impacting several events and reducing access to the course.

This has resulted in difficult decisions about how to proceed with major competitions. To prevent a misunderstanding, it is useful to outline how disrupted events are handled.

In the event of inclement weather or any other event impacting the start of a competition, the completion of a round or any other aspect of play, a decision will be taken by a minimum of three Directors (with at least one Director being on the course at the time) as to whether the round should continue and whether the round or competition will be cancelled for that day.

The Directors will ensure the correct protocols are followed if a round is to be suspended and cancelled (Refer to the Suspended Play and Course Closure Guidelines document).

Subsequently the Match and Green Committee will consider the most appropriate way to manage the competition going forward. Options that will be considered include, but are not limited to:

  1. Cancellation of the competition for the year
  2. Re-scheduling the competition
  3. Shortening the competition e.g. from 4 to 3 rounds
