The St Patrick’s day weekend saw the end of the District pennants season for Wenty. This year we entered teams in 3 divisions and came away with 2 district pennant wins. As the big man with the hanky once said, 2 out of three ain’t bad! On Sunday, Paul Garnsey’s Kortum shield team had a crushing victory and that makes it 5 years in a row. Wow! That can only be described as a Dynasty. Well done to all our Pennants teams. You have all done us proud.

The course was as green as a St Patricks day parade on Saturday. They say that it’s not easy being green, but the great field of 116 couldn’t help but enjoy. It was the 3rd round of the club championships for the ladies and the second round for the men. I am uncertain if the surname Cullen has any Irish heritage, but you could be forgiven for thinking so as there were more Cullens in the winner’s circle than pints of Guinness in a Dublin pub. Winner’s prizes, NIPs, putting, Junior prize, it was a good day to be a Cullen.

In the Ladies, Philippa Parker and Kerry Regan are going to battle it out for the top spot on the honour board in their division. The engraver has already asked me for the correct spelling for Susan Taylor in the 3rd division but he obviously doesn’t play golf as we know it’s not over till it’s over.

The Men’s second round was a cracker, to be sure, to be sure. In A grade, Dave Cullen had a PB and whilst he is not tapping our leader, Matt Hickey, on the shoulder yet, Matt can certainly smell Dave’s  deodorant. In B Grade, Jamie Galbraith and Grant Underwood are looking strong but a super round by our very own Mr Freeze (junior member Aiden Cullen) sets up the third round. A cooler customer, I have never met. C grade is as tight as a drum as well, and whilst Dave Mellor and Gary Hunter lead the way, it’s anyone’s race at the moment. The round of the day goes to Neil Griffiths. Neil has just come back from India and has obviously channelled his inner Swami. Neil carded a net 67 and won the day. The incredible part about it is that in the process, Nick had 44 putts. Gad.,

Wentworth Falls Country Club Juniors

Another big week for the juniors of WFCC this week. It was a day out for the juniors in B-Grade of the Club Championships on Saturday with Aiden Cullen winning the day and Harry Daniels coming runner-up. This results sees Aiden sitting in second place at the halfway point of the Championships. Going in to the final weekend of the Championships, Chazz Ritchie is leading the way in the Junior category. Winner of the junior prize this week was Jacob Cullen.

Backing up Saturday’s fantastic form, Aiden Cullen (along with team captain Paul Garnsey) lead his team to victory in the Kortum Shield Pennant Final with a whopping 4&3 victory in his match. That’s two Pennants in a row for Aiden!

Don’t forget the FREE junior clinics. The beginner’s clinic is on Friday and the advanced on Tuesday, both clinics start at 4pm. Contact the pro shop on 4757 1899 for further details.

I just wanted to write to let you know just how impressed I was with your club. In fact, everyone who attended the lunch was very, very impressed. Your staff could not have been more friendly, efficient and helpful. Even the young guy behind the bar was super-friendly whilst still being professional.  The food, without exception, was tremendous.
– Anne Hutchins
We often take family and visitors to the Thursday/Friday night servings and always found that everybody has enjoyed the food. The service is great with contact with the chef and his staff are wonderful and nothing is a problem for them even on a fully booked night they are so obliging.
– Mark R
Lovely Country golf club, with nice views over the course. Friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices.
– Martin C
An excellent venue for a special function. Friendly helpful staff and scrumptious food. I attended two Christmas lunches this past week and both were terrific. Also the Friday night carvery is worth trying. And the coffee is good too.
– Maunie K
This club has a real atmosphere about it and it never fails to please. Food, service all good. The servings are very generous and on most occasions are served quite quickly. The wine prices are attractive.
– Geoffrey W
My grandparents live in the area and after staying longer than expected visiting them suggested we have dinner at the country club. The only complaint I have is that they didn't tell me how good It was! - or I wouldn't have had so much for lunch.

A great course with attractive flora and fauna, and highly recommended for anyone visiting the Blue Mountains.
– Naysan H
Thank you to my good friends at Wentworth Falls Country Club for your support and Fund raising to help me get to World Championships in Germany. This club and its community have supported me over the past 10 years, and for that I'm grateful. The Friendliest and best club in the Mountains.
– Moe Westmoreland
The Society of Mountain Artists had their Christmas lunch at the club last Thursday. It was the best ever, the club goes out of its way to make it work and the food was outstanding.
– Marie Morris
My family and I would like to thank Jackie and Matt and everyone else at the club for making our daughters and son in law Monique & Joel's wedding such a wonderful night. It was an amazing night and all of our guests commented on the friendliness of your staff and how lovely the food was. I thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
– Julie Christie
Cannot express how well the staff helped on our wedding day, food was delicious, great atmosphere. Thank you.
– Nicky Fungo
I had my wedding here in November… place looked great, staff are so helpful. Definitely recommend.
– Christina Clarke
We had our wedding reception here last year and absolutely loved it. Awesome food and we got to drive up in a golf buggy.
