WENTWORTH FALLS COUNTRY CLUB

Our members came out to play this week with 221 competitive rounds for the week. The whether was hot but the golf was hotter with some spectacular rounds played by our members on the other side of 50, responding to what we now call the Junior Challenge at this time of year. Our Juniors were out in force and personal bests were the casualties.

Special mention to our new Golf pro Dave who proved that you don’t need to be Irish to enjoy a beer after a round, but it sure helps when your partner is actually Irish. Dave and Liane have already made a truly positive impact on our club and we thank them both.

Weekly Trivia Question:

Who was the long term Wenty member who’s name was announced as the winner of the member’s draw of $1750 on Saturday 20th.

Saturday saw the equivalent of a pro scoring 59 with Gordon Reynolds, off a handicap of 11 having 6 birdies on the way to winning the day scoring 48 points, or 69 off the stick. Well done Gordon. Gordon teamed up with Scott Lowe to win the teams event as well though from looking at the cards, it appears that Scott was left twirling the baton and shaking the pom poms. Jacob Cullen(Junior), Col Evans, Dave Cameron and Troy Arts fill the podium, and all scored 40 points or more. Amelia Galbraith continued her stellar form winning the ladies with 42 points off a handicap of 29. To put Amelia’s form in context, Amelia has dropped 16 strokes off her handicap in the last year, so how low can she go?

Thursday saw a great field of 80 play a Single Stableford and 2 Ball aggregate teams event. Mark Edwards (42 Points OCB) and Ruth Lucas (43 Points) turned in stunning performances and held our rampaging Juniors at bay. In the teams, Chazz Ritchie (Junior member) teamed up with our Pro Dave Paddison for the win. Chazz had another personal best, scoring 72 off the stick and winning the scratch. Chazz will most likely now hold the number 2 spot in our Senior pennants team. He is just 15 Years old.

Tuesday Medley saw another great turnout with a field of 38 and our Juniors shining again. There was 8 points of daylight between first and second as Amelia Galbraith scored 46 points.

Well done to all our winners and participants.

Wentworth Falls Country Club Juniors

Wow, what a week of golf from our juniors. It all kicked off in the Tuesday Open competition where Amelia Galbraith won the day with 46 points. In the Thursday Open competition Chazz Ritchie won the scratch with 41 points, but here’s the kicker. That’s 2 over par off the stick, a new personal best for Chazz. Saturday saw some more junior success with Amelia Galbraith winning the Ladies with 42 points and Jacob Cullen coming top 5 in the Men with 40 points. The junior prize went to Aiden Cullen with 39 points.

On the weekend Harry Daniels played in the US Kids Golf Australian Open at Riverside Oaks. This is a tournament that you must qualify for and what an experience it was. Over the two days Harry played with boys from Dubai, New Zealand and Australia. In a very tough field and 43 degree heat Harry managed to finish in 7thposition.

There is always a plethora of junior action happening at WFCC. To keep up to date with everything, hit up the Wentworth Falls Junior Golfers Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/Wentworth-Falls-Junior-Golfers-166131040568639/and press “like” or “follow”.

I just wanted to write to let you know just how impressed I was with your club. In fact, everyone who attended the lunch was very, very impressed. Your staff could not have been more friendly, efficient and helpful. Even the young guy behind the bar was super-friendly whilst still being professional.  The food, without exception, was tremendous.
– Anne Hutchins
We often take family and visitors to the Thursday/Friday night servings and always found that everybody has enjoyed the food. The service is great with contact with the chef and his staff are wonderful and nothing is a problem for them even on a fully booked night they are so obliging.
– Mark R
Lovely Country golf club, with nice views over the course. Friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices.
– Martin C
An excellent venue for a special function. Friendly helpful staff and scrumptious food. I attended two Christmas lunches this past week and both were terrific. Also the Friday night carvery is worth trying. And the coffee is good too.
– Maunie K
This club has a real atmosphere about it and it never fails to please. Food, service all good. The servings are very generous and on most occasions are served quite quickly. The wine prices are attractive.
– Geoffrey W
My grandparents live in the area and after staying longer than expected visiting them suggested we have dinner at the country club. The only complaint I have is that they didn't tell me how good It was! - or I wouldn't have had so much for lunch.

A great course with attractive flora and fauna, and highly recommended for anyone visiting the Blue Mountains.
– Naysan H
Thank you to my good friends at Wentworth Falls Country Club for your support and Fund raising to help me get to World Championships in Germany. This club and its community have supported me over the past 10 years, and for that I'm grateful. The Friendliest and best club in the Mountains.
– Moe Westmoreland
The Society of Mountain Artists had their Christmas lunch at the club last Thursday. It was the best ever, the club goes out of its way to make it work and the food was outstanding.
– Marie Morris
My family and I would like to thank Jackie and Matt and everyone else at the club for making our daughters and son in law Monique & Joel's wedding such a wonderful night. It was an amazing night and all of our guests commented on the friendliness of your staff and how lovely the food was. I thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
– Julie Christie
Cannot express how well the staff helped on our wedding day, food was delicious, great atmosphere. Thank you.
– Nicky Fungo
I had my wedding here in November… place looked great, staff are so helpful. Definitely recommend.
