238 competitive rounds this week, including over a 100 mid-week rounds.  Thanks to all of our mid- week warriors. Saturday was punctuated by an afternoon wind and rainstorm that buried many an umbrella. It takes a lot to remove guys like Bert Kryger, Laurie McCracken and Tony McQuillan from the course but when they dragged themselves in on Saturday afternoon, we all wanted to wrap them in blankets, put them in front of the heater, and set them up with a hot toddy.

WEEKLY TRIVIA QUESTION: Who is the only team who remain undefeated on the newly minted Wentworth Falls Country Club Pool Table ?

Sunday was our Wentworth Falls Country Club Holden Scramble. At just before 10am, it looked as if Rob our pro was giving out free beer, such was the Cachophony of Chaos around the steps of the clubhouse. Of course, it may also have been due to the shotgun start. (never let the truth get in the way of a good story). As it was, 60 starters teed it up and after the dust settled, the planets aligned for the local Chancery Lane team of Danny and Ebony Waugh and Sue and Steve West. They carded a 53 ¼ nett, which included 7 birdies in the last 10 holes, and believe it or not, that was with 2 left handers in the team!

Saturday saw the start of a new dynasty as Jeff Pails and Magda Cawthorne made it 3 Mixed Foursomes (alternate shot) championships in a row. They have recently moved into a new home on the coarse, so it may be a while before that honour goes anywhere else. Mick Woollan and Carol Massey won the best nett, but for the rest of us who got through another “divorsomes”, it was lots of “Sorry Honey” and a quite drive home. The saner golfers on the day played a Single Stableford and Mark Griffin took the cash.

On Thursday, our Ladies played off for the 2017 Gold Medal. Mary Petkevitch tried her hardest to throw it all away on the 10th when she did the dreaded putting dance with the hole and posted a number needing all fingers and a few toes. She pulled it back together though, eventually winning by 5 with a solid 76 nett.  Ladies Captain Kerrie Penfold continued her strong comeback from injury carding a more than competitive 71 to win the days stroke event. In the men, the champs took the podium, with former Club Champion Colin Stockley just out lasting current B Grade Champ Bill Slatford. Colin teamed up with Jeff Pails to win the teams event from Bill and Jim Addison.

In our Tuesday Medley, another bumper field of 35 saw John Kelley with a solid 38 pts edge out Grant Miller.

Well done to all our winners and competitors alike.

I just wanted to write to let you know just how impressed I was with your club. In fact, everyone who attended the lunch was very, very impressed. Your staff could not have been more friendly, efficient and helpful. Even the young guy behind the bar was super-friendly whilst still being professional.  The food, without exception, was tremendous.
– Anne Hutchins
We often take family and visitors to the Thursday/Friday night servings and always found that everybody has enjoyed the food. The service is great with contact with the chef and his staff are wonderful and nothing is a problem for them even on a fully booked night they are so obliging.
– Mark R
Lovely Country golf club, with nice views over the course. Friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices.
– Martin C
An excellent venue for a special function. Friendly helpful staff and scrumptious food. I attended two Christmas lunches this past week and both were terrific. Also the Friday night carvery is worth trying. And the coffee is good too.
– Maunie K
This club has a real atmosphere about it and it never fails to please. Food, service all good. The servings are very generous and on most occasions are served quite quickly. The wine prices are attractive.
– Geoffrey W
My grandparents live in the area and after staying longer than expected visiting them suggested we have dinner at the country club. The only complaint I have is that they didn't tell me how good It was! - or I wouldn't have had so much for lunch.

A great course with attractive flora and fauna, and highly recommended for anyone visiting the Blue Mountains.
– Naysan H
Thank you to my good friends at Wentworth Falls Country Club for your support and Fund raising to help me get to World Championships in Germany. This club and its community have supported me over the past 10 years, and for that I'm grateful. The Friendliest and best club in the Mountains.
– Moe Westmoreland
The Society of Mountain Artists had their Christmas lunch at the club last Thursday. It was the best ever, the club goes out of its way to make it work and the food was outstanding.
– Marie Morris
My family and I would like to thank Jackie and Matt and everyone else at the club for making our daughters and son in law Monique & Joel's wedding such a wonderful night. It was an amazing night and all of our guests commented on the friendliness of your staff and how lovely the food was. I thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
– Julie Christie
Cannot express how well the staff helped on our wedding day, food was delicious, great atmosphere. Thank you.
– Nicky Fungo
I had my wedding here in November… place looked great, staff are so helpful. Definitely recommend.
– Christina Clarke
We had our wedding reception here last year and absolutely loved it. Awesome food and we got to drive up in a golf buggy.
