A sub-par round, the final four decided in our Handiskins, a Hole in One, the record books shaken and stirred with 49 points, Green is the new Black, weekend visitors nearly hit the ton, Smurfs, Politics and Austin Texas, not Dallas. We had another 168 competitive rounds played this week and the only way you can make any sense of all of this is via the following statement. “In Golf we Trust.”

Tuesday Open medley saw Rob Peters duke it out with David Payens for top honours whilst Col Foster was playing darts on the greens taking out all the NTPs. Rob will be leaving us soon as he is Taree bound. Don’t forget about us Rob.

On Thursday Ron Hood set the theme for the rest of the weeks with a win scoring 40 points edging out Grant Miller. Grant teamed up with Mark Griffin to turn the tables on Ron and win the day’s teams event. Lea Shaefer had a win in the Ladies. Special mention to our Ladies Captain Kerrie Penfold who had a solid 35 points in her return match, back from injury. Great to see you back and swinging Kerrie.

Saturday was a day when the planets aligned and the geo-centrical centre of the universe became Wentworth Falls. Bronc Djura kicked us off for the day burning up the coarse with 68 off the stick for a well deserved win. You needed 40 points to get on the podium so well done to Gerald Murray and John Roberts.

In the Ladies, Carole Massey had 44 points on Saturday and would have been forgiven for placing her cue in the rack and sipping on a nice chardy in celebration. It took an incredible 49 points from Amelia Galbraith to spill the wine. Amelia made her cake and ate it too and no one was game to ask her if she left anything out there. This was Amelia’s third win from as many starts, so how low can she go? Amelia gave special thanks to her lady playing partners who supported her the whole way.  Amelia teamed up with Diane Smith to take out the teams aggregate with 80 points.

There were many other juniors playing on Saturday and the winner of the junior prize went to Aiden Cullen with 37 points.

I’m sure the birds were singing quietly in the background to a little Mozart as the ball left the club of Shane Hines on our 11th tee. The ball finally came to rest at the bottom of the cup and Shane had a hole in one. See you at Presentation night Shane.

Simon Whitehead won our final round in our Handiskins but did not do quite enough to make the final four. The playoff for $1200 in cash money with be held at 9am on Sunday 8th October. Good luck to you all as I’m sure those three footers will look a little bit longer on the day.

Saturday and Sunday was awash with social club golfers. The boys on Saturday night had to finish with their torches on but they all had a ball. Thanks go to Rob our Pro for all the hard work with that. You’ve done us proud as always.

Well done to all our Winners and Participants.

Another hugely successful weekend of junior golf has been completed at WFCC. On Saturday night the club hosted the major junior fundraiser in the form of a trivia night. Many laughs were had and $1550 was raised for the junior program.

On the night our WFCC Encourage Shield team were presented with their uniform and all the kids are going to look amazing in their “green is the new black” shirts as they represent the club in Pennants.

We had some firsts this week in the 10-hole challenge. Jessica Kennedy got her first ever birdie, she did this on the 9th too which meant that she also won the nearest-to-the-pin prize. Connor & Sebastian Wodrow played in their first ever game and Sebastian managed to get 16 points which means that he has progressed to the next level.

As the school holidays are upon us, WFCC will be holding a School Holiday Clinic on Friday 6th October. Cost is $30, which includes all equipment, tuition and a yummy lunch. To book or for more information please contact Wentworth Falls Pro Shop on 4757 1899.

We have WFCC juniors playing in tournaments at Lynwood, Bathurst and Stonecutters Ridge this week and we wish them all the best of luck.

I just wanted to write to let you know just how impressed I was with your club. In fact, everyone who attended the lunch was very, very impressed. Your staff could not have been more friendly, efficient and helpful. Even the young guy behind the bar was super-friendly whilst still being professional.  The food, without exception, was tremendous.
– Anne Hutchins
We often take family and visitors to the Thursday/Friday night servings and always found that everybody has enjoyed the food. The service is great with contact with the chef and his staff are wonderful and nothing is a problem for them even on a fully booked night they are so obliging.
– Mark R
Lovely Country golf club, with nice views over the course. Friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices.
– Martin C
An excellent venue for a special function. Friendly helpful staff and scrumptious food. I attended two Christmas lunches this past week and both were terrific. Also the Friday night carvery is worth trying. And the coffee is good too.
– Maunie K
This club has a real atmosphere about it and it never fails to please. Food, service all good. The servings are very generous and on most occasions are served quite quickly. The wine prices are attractive.
– Geoffrey W
My grandparents live in the area and after staying longer than expected visiting them suggested we have dinner at the country club. The only complaint I have is that they didn't tell me how good It was! - or I wouldn't have had so much for lunch.

A great course with attractive flora and fauna, and highly recommended for anyone visiting the Blue Mountains.
– Naysan H
Thank you to my good friends at Wentworth Falls Country Club for your support and Fund raising to help me get to World Championships in Germany. This club and its community have supported me over the past 10 years, and for that I'm grateful. The Friendliest and best club in the Mountains.
– Moe Westmoreland
The Society of Mountain Artists had their Christmas lunch at the club last Thursday. It was the best ever, the club goes out of its way to make it work and the food was outstanding.
– Marie Morris
My family and I would like to thank Jackie and Matt and everyone else at the club for making our daughters and son in law Monique & Joel's wedding such a wonderful night. It was an amazing night and all of our guests commented on the friendliness of your staff and how lovely the food was. I thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
– Julie Christie
Cannot express how well the staff helped on our wedding day, food was delicious, great atmosphere. Thank you.
– Nicky Fungo
I had my wedding here in November… place looked great, staff are so helpful. Definitely recommend.
– Christina Clarke
We had our wedding reception here last year and absolutely loved it. Awesome food and we got to drive up in a golf buggy.
