Elvis has left the building, Club Honour Board Events are heating up, Handiskins kicked into gear with over 40 participants and “Lefties rule”! We raised the bat again on Saturday with a field of 114 included in a total of 187 competition rounds for the week.

Whilst the Glitz and Glamour of the Elvis festival has left us, there was quite a buzz about the club in its wake. Special thanks goes out to all of our staff and volunteer members who made its success possible. On speaking to our professional, Rob Kennedy, he says he now knows every word to every Elvis song. One totally unfounded rumour, is that Rob will soon be performing locally, in a touring Elvis tribute show, ably assisted by his lovely wife, Tania Pricilla-Kennedy. The thought of Rob in tight white leather doing the strut with one arm in the air has not left me as yet! Good luck with that one Rob.

Our Tuesday Open medley was won by Walter Mockli on a count back from Mick Casey with Steve Pegler taking out best Visitor prize.

Thursday was our mid-week medal day and the medals went to Joan Woods, Stephen Parker, Glen Brown and Steve West in their grades. We also had 2 groups of ladies from Killara Golf Club join us. Thanks for coming up the hill ladies and we all hope you had a great day.

Saturday saw a Smorgasboard of events. We had a Single Stableford in conjunction with a teams’ 2BBB, Qualifiers for our “Cock of the Walk” teams Matchplay, the first round of our Handiskins competition and players going head to head in our graded Matchplay first round. Such was the potential for confusion, thankfully, I was assisted in collating all the cards and scores by my wife, Sue.

Thanks Sue, you were a great help. Now………If there are any queries at all, please contact her, she will have all the answers.

The day was won by Joss Bennett. Joss took out the Singles event, the Handiskins and finished top qualifier in the “Cock of the Walk” with Mike Gundy. Joss won a bright yellow LEUK the DUCK driver cover and a bottle of Peter Lehmann Potrait wine for winning the first round of the Handiskins. Joss, the driver cover is safe but you may want to check the wine as we were all a little thirsty after the presentation.

Special mention goes to Fay and Robert Zajakovski who joined us from Hurstville GC for the day.

Robert had a tough day and obviously sacrificed himself to support Fay as she won the Ladies event from our own Kerry Regan. Well done and thanks to Fay and Robert.

Andrew McMullan and Gordon Reynalds won the 2BBB event and John Ford won the scratch on the day.

Just as a note, Adam Pabian won the NTP on the Fifth hole on Saturday. Adam wrote down on the hole marker “I feel Guilty” as he beat the previous mark by just 0.5 cm. This was check measured by our very own Captain Concrete, so everything is legit. Don’t worry Adam, you also won the mystery prize! Did you know just how many Bundy and Cokes you can buy for $87.

The “Cock of the Walk” first round draw will be up on the notice board this week. It’s a strong field with our defending champ Laurance Petkevitch looking to go back to back with his newly recruited partner Callum Jones. Congratulations goes to Lachlan and Jacob Cullen who qualified in 5th place. Well done boys and good luck to all our qualifiers. First round needs to be completed by 17th September.

Sunday saw our Super Sunday Mixed event and our Cadets take to the course. Mary and Laurance Petkevitch took out the 2B aggregate event with Lesley Robinson winning the singles event. Aiden Cullen finished with the best score of 17pts in the Cadets 10 hole challenge.

After all of this, it should be noted that on Tuesday, Wally Mockli had a win. He is a left hander. On Thursday, Steve West had a win. He is a left hander. On Sunday, Lesley Robinson had a win. Lesley is a left hander. There is a trend happening here and us left handers are out to conquer, one win at a time. Well………That may be a “bridge too far” but I’ve put it out there now.

Next week, we have our boys taking the trip up to Oberon to play in the regional final of the NSW Mens’ 4 ball, 2nd round of the Handiskins, continuation of the Ladies Silver Salver, Odell- Moore knockout, Graded Matchplay and now “Cock of the Walk”. There’s a lot going on. Talk to Rob or Luke in the pro shop on 47571899 if you need more information on any of these.

All the week’s results can be found in the results area of our website. Well done to all our participants.

I just wanted to write to let you know just how impressed I was with your club. In fact, everyone who attended the lunch was very, very impressed. Your staff could not have been more friendly, efficient and helpful. Even the young guy behind the bar was super-friendly whilst still being professional.  The food, without exception, was tremendous.
– Anne Hutchins
We often take family and visitors to the Thursday/Friday night servings and always found that everybody has enjoyed the food. The service is great with contact with the chef and his staff are wonderful and nothing is a problem for them even on a fully booked night they are so obliging.
– Mark R
Lovely Country golf club, with nice views over the course. Friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices.
– Martin C
An excellent venue for a special function. Friendly helpful staff and scrumptious food. I attended two Christmas lunches this past week and both were terrific. Also the Friday night carvery is worth trying. And the coffee is good too.
– Maunie K
This club has a real atmosphere about it and it never fails to please. Food, service all good. The servings are very generous and on most occasions are served quite quickly. The wine prices are attractive.
– Geoffrey W
My grandparents live in the area and after staying longer than expected visiting them suggested we have dinner at the country club. The only complaint I have is that they didn't tell me how good It was! - or I wouldn't have had so much for lunch.

A great course with attractive flora and fauna, and highly recommended for anyone visiting the Blue Mountains.
– Naysan H
Thank you to my good friends at Wentworth Falls Country Club for your support and Fund raising to help me get to World Championships in Germany. This club and its community have supported me over the past 10 years, and for that I'm grateful. The Friendliest and best club in the Mountains.
– Moe Westmoreland
The Society of Mountain Artists had their Christmas lunch at the club last Thursday. It was the best ever, the club goes out of its way to make it work and the food was outstanding.
– Marie Morris
My family and I would like to thank Jackie and Matt and everyone else at the club for making our daughters and son in law Monique & Joel's wedding such a wonderful night. It was an amazing night and all of our guests commented on the friendliness of your staff and how lovely the food was. I thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
– Julie Christie
Cannot express how well the staff helped on our wedding day, food was delicious, great atmosphere. Thank you.
– Nicky Fungo
I had my wedding here in November… place looked great, staff are so helpful. Definitely recommend.
– Christina Clarke
We had our wedding reception here last year and absolutely loved it. Awesome food and we got to drive up in a golf buggy.
