Firstly, a special mention to our Clubhouse staff, Annie, Kim, Neville, Maddy, Aiden and Andrew. It doesn’t matter how the course treats you, you will always get a smile, and thank the gods, a drink out of these folks. We all really appreciate the job you do.

Weekly Trivia Question: According to the Guinness Book of Records, who holds the lowest official stroke score ever recorded and what was it. (Answer at end of Editorial)

Tuesday Open medley saw Paul Ryan break the 40-point barrier again, for the win. Paul had 41 points last Tuesday so the bookie has him odds on to bring it home in 39 points this Tuesday. No pressure Paul, easy game this golf. Frank Treiger and Andy Mclean filled the podium on the day.

Thursday was a Single Stableford and 2B aggregate teams event. Richard Pym and Paul Jones both had 40 points but it just was not enough as Mark Griffin stole the show with a 41. Not to be outdone though, Leonie Wilson won the ladies with a stunning 42 points with Jenny Whellens runner up. Mark teamed up with Jimmy Addison to sweep the prizes on the day.

What is it with these all these 40 pointers lately. To me, it’s like a bottle of 1968 Grange Hermitage. I know what it looks like but alas, I know I won’t be uncorking one anytime soon!

Saturday the rain came. Despite the conditions, we had a committed well- watered field with Gerald Murray heading off Doug Halpin for the win in the mens. Ebony Waugh beat everyone out of bed, teed it up early and lead all the way to the winners post in the ladies. In the Team’s event, Callum Jones and Laurance Petkevitch were just too good. Saturday also saw the final showdown of the Odell Moore Knockout between Peter Sait and John Beahan. These boys must have loved each others company because it took 19 holes in the rain to seperate them, with Peter finally outlasting John to take the gong.

Wentworth Fall Country Club Juniors

More history for WFCC on Sunday with our Encourage Shield pennant team securing a draw in their match against Lakeside Camden. The game was played at Windsor Country Club in wet, tricky conditions. Oliver Cullen, playing in his first pennant game, had a fantastic 4&3 win. Angus Evers had a very impressive 5&4 win and Amelia Galbraith had the biggest win that is possible, winning every hole for a 10&8 victory. Amelia and Angus remain undefeated after two games. Two of our other three matches went to the 17th hole and the final contest went all the way to the 18th. Unfortunately, these three games ended in defeat but, having secured three wins in the earlier matches, the contest finished in a 3-all draw. Next up we travel to Stonecutters Ridge GC to play against Windsor.

Not to be outdone, two of our juniors played in the quarter-final of the Cock-of-the-Walk championship on Sunday and came away with a 4&3 win. Well done Lachlan & Jacob Cullen.

Don’t forget our FREE junior clinics. The beginner’s clinic is on Friday and the advanced on Tuesday, both starting at 4pm. For more information, please contact Wentworth Falls Pro Shop on 4757 1899.

I just wanted to write to let you know just how impressed I was with your club. In fact, everyone who attended the lunch was very, very impressed. Your staff could not have been more friendly, efficient and helpful. Even the young guy behind the bar was super-friendly whilst still being professional.  The food, without exception, was tremendous.
– Anne Hutchins
We often take family and visitors to the Thursday/Friday night servings and always found that everybody has enjoyed the food. The service is great with contact with the chef and his staff are wonderful and nothing is a problem for them even on a fully booked night they are so obliging.
– Mark R
Lovely Country golf club, with nice views over the course. Friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices.
– Martin C
An excellent venue for a special function. Friendly helpful staff and scrumptious food. I attended two Christmas lunches this past week and both were terrific. Also the Friday night carvery is worth trying. And the coffee is good too.
– Maunie K
This club has a real atmosphere about it and it never fails to please. Food, service all good. The servings are very generous and on most occasions are served quite quickly. The wine prices are attractive.
– Geoffrey W
My grandparents live in the area and after staying longer than expected visiting them suggested we have dinner at the country club. The only complaint I have is that they didn't tell me how good It was! - or I wouldn't have had so much for lunch.
– r b
A great course with attractive flora and fauna, and highly recommended for anyone visiting the Blue Mountains.
– Naysan H
Thank you to my good friends at Wentworth Falls Country Club for your support and Fund raising to help me get to World Championships in Germany. This club and its community have supported me over the past 10 years, and for that I'm grateful. The Friendliest and best club in the Mountains.
– Moe Westmoreland
The Society of Mountain Artists had their Christmas lunch at the club last Thursday. It was the best ever, the club goes out of its way to make it work and the food was outstanding.
– Marie Morris
My family and I would like to thank Jackie and Matt and everyone else at the club for making our daughters and son in law Monique & Joel's wedding such a wonderful night. It was an amazing night and all of our guests commented on the friendliness of your staff and how lovely the food was. I thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
– Julie Christie
Cannot express how well the staff helped on our wedding day, food was delicious, great atmosphere. Thank you.
