Spring has Sprung. No matter what the name of your god is, they were all sitting around holding hands because the weather was stunning this week. We had another great turnout with 190 competitive rounds with our Ladies and Juniors showing the way.

Our Tuesday Open medley saw Peter Wong lose another stroke off his handicap and Jeff Pails made a welcome return as runner up.

Our Thursday Event had a single Stableford in conjunction with a 2-ball aggregate. Arvi Rannasta and Glenn Brown took out the prizes in the men with Leonie Wilson and Tilly Elderfield leading the way in the ladies event. Tilly partnered up with Magda Cawthorne and they combined a treat to win the Aggregate Teams event.

Saturday was our President’s favourite event, a Par Handicap with a 2BBB in conjunction. Peter Cullen had a + 4, that’s 72 off the stick to win the day in the men from Bert Kryger with a +3. Harry Daniels snuck a cheeky 3rd place with a score of +2. He also won the putting competition with 28 putts. After a runner-up finish last week he is racking up the vouchers. I believe Tom (dad) is putting that fatherly pressure on Harry to use some of those vouchers to help his poor old dad get a new set of wedges. Good luck with that Tom !

Amelia Galbraith (a junior member) had a memorable win in the Ladies event. Amelia was +8 on the 16th Tee and experienced that knee knocking pressure of playing well. We have all felt that. She toughed it out and came in with a plus 7, a great effort. All we can say is “You go Girl”.

Amelia and Sue West backed up Tilly and Magda’s result on Thursday to make it a clean sweep for the ladies in the week’s teams events. Combined, Amelia and Sue had a plus 10 and won on a count back from Joan Wood and Pat Smiley. Gentlemen, there is a solution. Sink more putts!

Saturday also saw the introduction of the weekly Junior prize. The junior award goes to the best junior score after the main competition prizes are won. We had 10 juniors play on Saturday. The prize is sponsored by our members. Sue West, Winton Evers and Dave Cullen have committed their hard earned to make this possible for the next 4 months. Thanks folks.

For this week, both Amelia and Harry Daniels had wins in the main competition so this week’s prize went to Lachlan Cullen with a plus 1.

Sunday was an open medley and Aiden Cullen (a Junior member) had a win with 37points. This victory meant that Aiden beat his dad Dave on both Saturday AND Sunday. How’s that for a Father’s Day present!

The golfing future is in good hands at WFCC. For the first time, we have a Junior Pennant team that will be playing in the Jack Newton Junior Golf Encourage Shield. There will be plenty of travel involved, uniforms to be purchased and practice equipment to be updated.

With this in mind, WFCC will be holding a fundraising trivia night on Saturday 23rd September. This is sure to be a cracking night filled with laughter. For more information contact the Pro Shop on 4757 1899.

On Wednesday and Thursday this week WFCC junior members Harry Daniels and Lachlan Cullen will be representing Sydney West in the PSSA State Golf Championships at Camden Lakeside. Go get ‘em fellas.

Well done to all our Winners and Participants.

All the week’s results can be found in the results area of our website, including Handiskins leaderboard and updated draws for our Matchplay events. Well done to all our participants.

I just wanted to write to let you know just how impressed I was with your club. In fact, everyone who attended the lunch was very, very impressed. Your staff could not have been more friendly, efficient and helpful. Even the young guy behind the bar was super-friendly whilst still being professional.  The food, without exception, was tremendous.
– Anne Hutchins
We often take family and visitors to the Thursday/Friday night servings and always found that everybody has enjoyed the food. The service is great with contact with the chef and his staff are wonderful and nothing is a problem for them even on a fully booked night they are so obliging.
– Mark R
Lovely Country golf club, with nice views over the course. Friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices.
– Martin C
An excellent venue for a special function. Friendly helpful staff and scrumptious food. I attended two Christmas lunches this past week and both were terrific. Also the Friday night carvery is worth trying. And the coffee is good too.
– Maunie K
This club has a real atmosphere about it and it never fails to please. Food, service all good. The servings are very generous and on most occasions are served quite quickly. The wine prices are attractive.
– Geoffrey W
My grandparents live in the area and after staying longer than expected visiting them suggested we have dinner at the country club. The only complaint I have is that they didn't tell me how good It was! - or I wouldn't have had so much for lunch.

A great course with attractive flora and fauna, and highly recommended for anyone visiting the Blue Mountains.
– Naysan H
Thank you to my good friends at Wentworth Falls Country Club for your support and Fund raising to help me get to World Championships in Germany. This club and its community have supported me over the past 10 years, and for that I'm grateful. The Friendliest and best club in the Mountains.
– Moe Westmoreland
The Society of Mountain Artists had their Christmas lunch at the club last Thursday. It was the best ever, the club goes out of its way to make it work and the food was outstanding.
– Marie Morris
My family and I would like to thank Jackie and Matt and everyone else at the club for making our daughters and son in law Monique & Joel's wedding such a wonderful night. It was an amazing night and all of our guests commented on the friendliness of your staff and how lovely the food was. I thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
– Julie Christie
Cannot express how well the staff helped on our wedding day, food was delicious, great atmosphere. Thank you.
– Nicky Fungo
I had my wedding here in November… place looked great, staff are so helpful. Definitely recommend.
– Christina Clarke
We had our wedding reception here last year and absolutely loved it. Awesome food and we got to drive up in a golf buggy.
