Our Ladies sweep the week’s teams events, Leuk the Duck lands in the hands of our very own Captain Concrete, Ron Hood gets a double, our youngest ever winner of the weekly Mystery Hole, Bonneville remains elusive for our NSW Mens fourball team and “hit ‘em straight” works a treat as a windy, dry August prevails at Wenty.

With ground temperatures at around 2 deg, the only thing that’s growing at the moment is the national debt. Right now on the course, the real impact of all the hard work of our green staff put in week on week, can really be seen. If you look at photos of the course from recent, previous years, the improvement is stunning.

Thanks go out to Damien and all his staff.

Our Tuesday Open medley was won by Ron Hood, the first of his two wins for the week. He edged out “always on the podium” Frank Tregier with John Riley taking out the best visitor honours.

Thursday was a Par Handicap and 2BBB.  Ismail Kaba and Denise Sygraves had wins in their individual events and Denise then partnered with Joan Wood for an impressive 1st place in the teams. I would love to have some stats around Joan’s wins over the years. I am certain that they would reveal that she has had more victories that Arnold Palmer. Well done Joan.

Saturday saw a Single Stableford in conjunction with a teams’ aggregate event and the 2nd round of our Handiskins tournament. Ron Hood took out the mens’ event for his second win of the week. Well done Ron. Tony McQuillan, John Celeban and Shane Hines were Ron’s main competitors with Linda Loftus topping the Ladies event. Looks like Andrew will be on dishes duty this week with Linda also partnering Magda Cawthorne to take out the Teams event in a canter from Ken Nicholson and president Stuart Liddell. Tony McQuillan won the Handiskins 2nd round and gets partnered with his very own “Leuk the Duck” head cover. Leuk the Duck is a symbol of Challenge, which supports Children Living with Cancer.

Our Saturday Mystery Hole winner was Aiden Cullen. “Boy” as he is affectionately known had 20 points on the back nine and NTP on the 15th. Father Dave was happy to collect the winnings which I am certain will find its way to what must be a tidy pocket money tally for the week for Aiden. Aiden has dropped his handicap from 36 to 24 and is another great example of our Junior program. Well done Aiden.

Sunday had US Kids Golf day at Wenty and the Mens NSW Fourball State Qualifier at Oberon. Whilst we did not get to Bonneville this year, we at least marked the winners card and put away a heap of the locally made Rissole sandwiches. (yummy)

Next week we have our Saturday Monthly Medals and the continuation of our Honour-board Matchplay qualifying rounds. Good luck to everyone.

All the week’s results can be found in the results area of our website, including Handiskins leaderboard and draws for our Matchplay events. Well done to all our participants.

I just wanted to write to let you know just how impressed I was with your club. In fact, everyone who attended the lunch was very, very impressed. Your staff could not have been more friendly, efficient and helpful. Even the young guy behind the bar was super-friendly whilst still being professional.  The food, without exception, was tremendous.
– Anne Hutchins
We often take family and visitors to the Thursday/Friday night servings and always found that everybody has enjoyed the food. The service is great with contact with the chef and his staff are wonderful and nothing is a problem for them even on a fully booked night they are so obliging.
– Mark R
Lovely Country golf club, with nice views over the course. Friendly atmosphere and reasonable prices.
– Martin C
An excellent venue for a special function. Friendly helpful staff and scrumptious food. I attended two Christmas lunches this past week and both were terrific. Also the Friday night carvery is worth trying. And the coffee is good too.
– Maunie K
This club has a real atmosphere about it and it never fails to please. Food, service all good. The servings are very generous and on most occasions are served quite quickly. The wine prices are attractive.

My grandparents live in the area and after staying longer than expected visiting them suggested we have dinner at the country club. The only complaint I have is that they didn't tell me how good It was! - or I wouldn't have had so much for lunch.

A great course with attractive flora and fauna, and highly recommended for anyone visiting the Blue Mountains.

Thank you to my good friends at Wentworth Falls Country Club for your support and Fund raising to help me get to World Championships in Germany. This club and its community have supported me over the past 10 years, and for that I'm grateful. The Friendliest and best club in the Mountains.
– Moe Westmoreland
The Society of Mountain Artists had their Christmas lunch at the club last Thursday. It was the best ever, the club goes out of its way to make it work and the food was outstanding.
– Marie Morris
My family and I would like to thank Jackie and Matt and everyone else at the club for making our daughters and son in law Monique & Joel's wedding such a wonderful night. It was an amazing night and all of our guests commented on the friendliness of your staff and how lovely the food was. I thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
– Julie Christie
Cannot express how well the staff helped on our wedding day, food was delicious, great atmosphere. Thank you.
– Nicky Fungo
I had my wedding here in November… place looked great, staff are so helpful. Definitely recommend.
– Christina Clarke
We had our wedding reception here last year and absolutely loved it. Awesome food and we got to drive up in a golf buggy.
